What we collect

When you create an account: your email address, used for sign-in and account-related emails (like confirming your address).

As you use the app, we store what you enter or generate while building your roadmap:

• Business ideas, quiz answers, and the roadmap/lessons generated for you
• Progress you log — completed steps, money/revenue numbers you enter, notes and decisions you record
• Messages you send to Vinny (the in-app AI mentor) and his replies

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio. We do not require or store any payment or government ID information today.

How we use it

To run the app: generating your personalized roadmap and lessons, tracking your progress, and remembering context so Vinny’s replies make sense.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models beyond what’s needed to generate your own roadmap and replies during your own sessions.

Who can see it

We use a small number of service providers to run VentureGuide. Each only handles what it needs to do its job — we don’t sell or share your data beyond this list:

• Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in. It stores everything in your account: your email, quiz answers, roadmap progress, logged decisions, and chat history. Technical access controls (row-level security) mean other users cannot read your data, and our own systems only access it in aggregate or when needed to fix a bug you report.
• Anthropic, maker of the Claude AI model VentureGuide is built on, receives the relevant parts of what you’ve entered (your business idea, quiz answers, progress) when generating your roadmap, lessons, or a reply from Vinny.
• Resend sends account-related emails (like confirming your email address) and only handles your email address for that purpose.

How long we keep it

We keep your data as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app (My Profile → delete account), which permanently erases your quiz answers, roadmap progress, logged decisions, chat history, and account record from our active systems — this cannot be undone. A residual copy may briefly persist in encrypted backups until it’s rotated out in the normal course of our backup schedule.

Your rights

You can export your own data at any time (My Profile → export) and delete your account and all associated data at any time, both without contacting us.

If you’re located in the EU, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA (such as the right to correct or restrict how we use your data). Contact us using the email below to exercise them.

Children's use

VentureGuide is built to work for teenagers starting a business, including under-18 users. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian should be aware you’re using the app, particularly for any step involving money, contracts, or business registration.

VentureGuide is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
